Lunar
Effect
Planetary
Influences on the Markets
For some time,
there have been correlations drawn between planetary alignments
and the stock markets movements. Specifically, the new and full
moons each month have some influence in marking trend reversals
in the markets. This is exaggerated even more when the new or
full moon occurs in proximity to an eclipse of the moon or sun.
Why?
The explanation
is somewhat intuitive. As the planets and moon affect the rise
and fall of the oceans tides, they can affect the rise and fall
of the markets' tides. Those tides are seen in the movements
of the crowd, measuring sentiment/emotion, and manifested in
price peaks or troughs.
When in effect,
the lunar influence will peak a strong rally, or bottom a strong
decline within a trading day of the lunar event.
